About Reed
Once a Trojan, Always a Trojan
Throughout eighteen years of residence, my family and I have experienced the best that Cortland County offers, from summer baseball to Cub Scouts to martial arts at Bailey's Karate School. My first exposure to politics occurred when the Homer American Legion Post 465 nominated me, then a junior at Homer High School, as a delegate to New York Boys' State 2017. Throughout my senior year, I gained hands-on experience in local government by interning in the County Legislature Clerk's Office, working as an Office Assistant for the Mayor of the City of Cortland, and representing the Cortland County League of Women Voters in the distinguished Students Inside Albany program. I earned my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Theater at Colgate University, graduating summa cum laude with Honors Distinction in both majors. I look forward to continuing my education at Syracuse's Maxwell School for Citizenship and Public Affairs as a candidate for a Masters' in Public Administration (M.P.A.) in Summer 2024.
I am a very active participant in the Homer community. I am a Substitute Teacher in the Homer Central School District and the extracurricular Club Advisor to Homer High School's Shakespearean & Thespian Society, where I direct two theatrical productions per year. I am Co-Chair of the Cortland County Youth Board, academic tutor for CNY Tutoring, and volunteer with the Cortland County League of Women Voters. In moments of spare time, I am most likely performing with the Center Players, training at the FitnessGap, or enjoying long walks around the village with Gia and Phoebe.
